KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) - Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett will join school board administrators in breaking ground on a new elementary school Thursday.
The school will be built at 1889 Thunderhead Road, in the southwest part of the county.
The new 128,500 square foot school will accommodate the current and projected population of children in the area.
It is scheduled to open in August 2013 and will accommodate around 1,200 students.
