STRAWBERRY PLAINS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- New Market Fire Department Captain Sammy Solomon says two LifeStar helicopters went to the scene of a single car wreck in Jefferson County.
Around 7:20 p.m. Friday night, Solomon says an SUV landed in trees.
Witnesses a man and a woman were pulled from the car. They were stuck for at least an hour.
The SUV was headed towards Jefferson City and hit the entrance sign to Ashley Oaks neighborhood, smashed into a power pole ripping down lines, and went down a ravine.
Both of them were taken to the hospital by LifeStar, but witnesses say they were coherent.
Highway 11E is back open, but traffic is slow.
We will bring you more details as we get them.
