KNOX COUNTY, Tenn.(WVLT)--Dozens of people, including Knox County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett and members of the school board broke ground Thursday on a brand new school
The future elementary school will be built on Thunderhead Road in the Northshore Town Center.
The new 128,500 sq. ft. school will accommodate the current and projected population of children in this region of the county.
It is scheduled to open in August of 2013 accommodating approximately 1,200 students.
