CLAXTON, Tenn. (WVLT)- A man is recovering this morning after an overnight rescue in Anderson County.
Officials tell us it took about three hours to free the victim- after he had fallen about five hundred feet while caving. It happened around midnight- on Mehaffey road near Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Claxton.
They tell us the victim is an experienced caver who slipped on a rock and came crashing down. A friend who was with him then called 911.
The victim's name and condition have not been released.
