Personnel Acquire Skills to qualify them for Higher Level Positions |
All members of the
Production Staff are cross-trained in more than one area of production. Training these employees to perform skills
other than their primary responsibilities provides each with a possible opportunity
to advance within the department.
Depending on the employee’s preference and depending on the needs of
the department, employees are cross-trained in graphics, audio, directing,
web management, and/or video editing.
By allowing each employee within the department to acquire as many
skills as they can, the station prepares those employees for future advancement
within the station. |

Internship Program |
WVLT offers students
enrolled in a university the opportunity to gain practical experience in a
broadcast environment. During the
reporting period the station had a total of 16 interns: In the Summer of 2006, the
station had 3 interns: 3 in News. In the Fall of 2006, the
station had 8 interns: 2 in Commercial Production and 6 in News. In the Spring of 2007, the
station had 5 interns: 3 in Commercial Production, 1 in Sales, and 1 in News. |
