YESILYURT, Turkey (AP) -- Authorities have found the black box of a Turkish passenger jet that crashed in southwest Turkey early today.

That word from CNN-Turk television.

All 56 people on board the Atlasjet flight from Istanbul were killed when the plane crashed into a rocky mountain shortly before it was supposed to land. The plane disappeared from radar shortly after the pilot informed the tower he saw the airport.

A firefighter from the scene reports some of the bodies were still attached to their seats. He says "bodies that fell on the ground are beyond recognition."

Relatives of some of the victims made their way to the scene. They were crying as they walked back down a mountain path.

The MD-83 jet was carrying 49 passengers and seven crew members and departed Istanbul around 1 this morning.

The airline's chief executive says the weather was good and the crash "had nothing to do with a technical fault."

The Turkish state-run news agency reports a team of investigators has gone to the crash site.
