Lake Tansi fire claims the lives of two locals

Two people are dead following a residential fire in Lake Tansi. County and City Firefighters responded to the home of Darrell and Carol Darling on Cabin Lane just after 9:00 Tuesday morning to find the home fully involved. Two vehicles were located on the property, which brought immediate fear the couple were still inside the home. That fear was confirmed when Tuesday afternoon the remains of two people were discovered. Family and friends were unable to get in touch with either of the Darling’s and the remains were sent to Nashville for an autopsy and for identification purposes. The investigation into the fire is continuing, with local officials being assisted by the Tennessee Bomb and Arson division. As a matter of routine procedure, until the cause of the blaze is determined, the location is being treated as a crime scene.
