The staff of West Lonsdale Baptist Church announced last Sunday that the doors of the church would be closed on Sunday May 18. Like many churches WLBC has struggled in this economic downturn but the closure is for a different reason. The members will be asked to assemble at 9 AM and move out into the community and SERVE. Members will work in parks, deliver food, offer comfort in hospitals, prepare meals, generally serve the community. Youth Pastor Todd Halliburton explained that must move outside it's doors to truly influence the community.
