KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The oversized V-O-L-S letters that hung atop Neyland Stadium will soon be supporting a different kind of volunteer. They are being auctioned off as part of the United Way of Greater Knoxville's online auction.
Last year, a similar set of letters sold for more than $6,000. United Way is hoping it will generate a big donation for the organization.
The letters are on display with all of the other items up for bid on the United Way of Greater Knoxville 2011 Online Auction preview site, a href="http://www.unitedwayknox.org" target="_blank">unitedwayknox.org. The preview opened Monday morning.
The auction starts November 7th.
