Knoxville (WVLT) - A special Fourth of July celebration for our city's homeless.

The Lost Sheep Ministry held a special cook out Wednesday night in Downtown Knoxville. They served hamburgers, hot dogs, ice cream and watermelon for our community's less fortunate. Their mission wasn't just a nice gesture - the Lost Sheep Ministry was also there with a special mission.

"We've been doing this for 18 years, we do it every wednesday night, and we don't stay out here to keep them out here, we work all week to keep them off the street," founder and executive director Maxine Raines said.

The Lost Sheep also have a ministry in the Old City on Saturday nights.
