WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities have not determined the cause of death of a Vietnam veteran whose body was found in a fire ring at a North Carolina campsite, but they say no foul play is suspected.

An autopsy report that was made public Wednesday says 61-year-old Phillip D. Mineer of Fort Myers, Fla., was so badly burned that his body was in pieces. Mineer had last been seen by friends on July 1 near a fire ring by their campsite, near the Beaulah community. His body was discovered at 6 a.m. the next day.

Authorities and his friends said then they thought Mineer may have had a heart attack or some other medical condition and stumbled into the ring.
