FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) -- Another planeload of 101st Airborne Division soldiers have been welcomed back to Fort Campbell.
The 280 members of the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade landed on a chilly, gray Wednesday to shouts and applause inside a large aircraft hangar, according to The Leaf-Chronicle of Clarksville, Tenn.
Maj. Gen. James C. McConville thanked the soldiers for proudly representing the Screaming Eagle patch they wear on their uniforms.
Sgt. Anthony Ruiz returned on his 27th birthday and gamely held a balloon handed to him by his parents who came in from Tucson, Ariz.
Sgt. Jose Casillas was greeted by Uncle Sam. The costumed gent was his father-in-law, John Ervin, who dressed up on a dare.
