(WVLT) -- NASCAR superstar Ernie Irvan was in Knoxville Wednesday for the Food City Race Night, an event which is part of the preparations for the Bristol NASCAR race Sunday.

Irvan signed autographs and spoke with fans, who came to meet drivers, have their pictures taken next to actual race cars and enjoy live music.

GIBBS RACING IN TROUBLE
Joe Gibbs Racing faces stiff penalties after two of the team's Toyotas were found to have magnets under the gas pedals following Saturday's Nationwide race at Michigan International Speedway. Nascar inspectors discovered the magnets while preparing to do tests on horsepower numbers. Tony Stewart finished third in one of the cars, and 18-year-old rookie Joey Logano was seventh.
