The Department of Defense has released the latest American military casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Figures reveal more than 4,000 U.S. troops have died so far and more than 31,000 have been wounded.

There are concerns that the number of deaths, injuries and medically transported victims is now nearing 75,000.

The military's casuality reports excludes the number of troops admitted into VA hospitals which has reached almost 300,000 since 2002.
