ESCOBARES, Texas (AP) -- Parts of Texas and Oklahoma are still dealing with flooding caused by weekend torrential rains.
Although flood waters are receding in southern Texas, it's different up north.
Flooding is reported in parts of northwest Texas, near Wichita Falls. A flash flood warning is in effect from Decatur to Wichita Falls. Some roads are blocked by standing water, including sections of Interstate 44.
In the Dallas suburb of Garland, a buildup of rain water is blamed for the collapse of the roof on a strip shopping center. Eight businesses are damaged.
Firefighters are using boats to rescue some people from homes and vehicles in El Reno, just west of Oklahoma City.
The El Reno area has measured 4.8 inches of rain in three days, and nearly 10 inches has fallen in southwest Oklahoma's Jefferson County. High water is blocking several roads.
