MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Police say a Wisconsin woman celebrated her 37th birthday by helping her son rob a couple of gas stations.

Police say the mother was the getaway driver, while the 17-year-old robbed both businesses at gunpoint.

The teen was apparently visiting from Chicago for his mother's birthday.

Authorities say the woman's three other children, including a 13-month-old girl, were also in the vehicle. They've since been turned over to Milwaukee's child welfare bureau.

Meanwhile, the woman and the 17-year-old are being held at the Milwaukee County Jail, pending charges.
