CLEVELAND (AP/WVLT) -- Ohio Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones remains in critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

Earlier, CNN reported that U.S. Representative Stehpanie Tubbs Jones, 58, has died after a brain aneurysm suffered while in her car Tuesday.

A doctor says the 58-year-old lawmaker suffered the hemorrhage while driving her car in Cleveland Heights yesterday. Police say she had been driving erratically and her vehicle crossed lanes of traffic before coming to a stop.

The doctor describes the hemorrhage as "very serious." He says it was caused by an aneurysm that burst in an inaccessible part of her brain. Doctors say Tubbs Jones has limited brain function.

Tubbs Jones was one of Hillary Rodham Clinton's biggest boosters during the primaries. She had been scheduled to be a superdelegate at next week's Democratic National Convention in Denver.

A family friend is asking people to pray for the congresswoman.

Spokeswoman Nicole Williams says Tubbs Jones had the aneurysm while driving her car in Cleveland Heights on Tuesday.

She says the congresswoman's condition has been stabilized at Cleveland Clinic's Huron Hospital in East Cleveland.

Tubbs Jones was first elected in 1998, becoming the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress.

She was one of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's biggest boosters during the primaries and is a superdelegate at next week's Democratic National Convention in Denver.
