SEATTLE (AP) -- Search and rescue crews are trying to dig out two teenagers trapped in a collapsed snow cave near a mountain summit east of Seattle.
Snoqualmie Pass Fire Chief Matt Cowan says hikers with the teens called 911 early Thursday afternoon.
He says the hikers reported hearing a "boom" when the cave collapsed but couldn't dig out the teens on their own. The trapped teens are ages 14 and 17. A parent of at least one of them is among the hikers.
Cowan says there has been no contact with the trapped teens. The cave is about 2 miles from the 3,050-foot summit of Snoqualmie Pass.
The cave is about 45 miles east of Seattle.
