DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- A mother in Dayton, Ohio, has been found guilty of killing her month-old daughter by burning her in a microwave oven.

The jury announced its verdict Friday in the retrial 28-year-old China Arnold. She was found guilty of aggravated murder and faces the death penalty when sentenced.

Arnold was accused of killing Paris Talley in 2005. A judge declared a mistrial in February.

When the verdict was read Friday, Arnold showed no reaction and then lowered her head, looking down at the defense table. Relatives in the courtroom cried and covered their faces with their hands.

Prosecutors say Arnold intentionally put her baby in the microwave oven and cooked the child to death after a fight with her boyfriend. Prosecutors say the couple had argued over whether the boyfriend was the biological father.
