MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. (AP) -- Searchers have turned up the wreckage of adventurer Steve Fossett's airplane in California.
Authorities say ground crews confirm finding Fossett's plane in the Inyo National Forest in California.
The National Transportation Safety Board is sending investigators to the site.
Fossett vanished a year ago while flying a single-engine plane from Nevada.
A judge had declared Fossett legally dead last February following an unsuccessful search for the missing millionaire that covered 20,000 square miles.
Then, earlier this week, a hiker said he'd found ID cards and a pilot's license with Fossett's name, sparking the latest search effort.
