$66 million broadband grant coming to Morgan, Scott, McCreary
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday that it was awarding a $66 million grant to a Morgan County-based telecommunication company.

MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday that it was awarding a $66 million grant to a Morgan County-based telecommunication company.
Highland Telephone Cooperative will use the $66,489,162 in economic stimulus funds to provide state-of-the-art communication services and broadband infrastructure in Morgan and Scott Counties as well as McCreary County, Kentucky.
The project will benefit about 52,000 people, 1,800 businesses and 100 other community institutions. It is expected to create scores of jobs over the next several years.
