ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A woman is dead after a crash in Anderson County Monday morning, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirms.
It happened shortly after 8 a.m. on Norris Freeway.
Troopers say a Toyota Camry driven by a 17-year-old boy and carrying another teen, either 16 or 17 years old, collided with a Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Mitzi L. Garrett, who is either 40 or 41. Troopers did not include exact birth dates on the crash report, and both Garrett and teen passenger in the Camry have birthdays in August.
Garrett was killed when the Camry crossed the center line and hit Garrett's PT Cruiser. Both teens, who troopers say are Anderson County High School students, were also injured, and all three were wearing a seat belt.
Because THP did not identify the teenagers, Volunteer TV has been unable to determine their medical condition.

i was really sad to see this in the news. my thoughs and prays go out to both familys.its always hard to lose a love one but was glad to see she loved the lord. And to the young men I will pray the lord hold your hands just as he is holdin hers.
We are so sorry for the loss of such a young mother. Our prayers go out to her son and all of the family. May god be with you all in your time of need. Our prayers are with the young boys and there family also.
Her name was Mitzi, not Nitzi. She was a precious woman with a beautiful spirit, incredible sense of humor and she loved her son more than life itself. Our loss here is definitely heaven's gain and so thankful that her faith in Jesus Christ is now sight. Mitzi, you will be greatly missed!!!
