KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A northeast Knoxville home caught fire Sunday afternoon, forcing two people from the house before firefighters arrived to battle the blaze.
The Knoxville Fire Department was called to 2843 London Circle around 2:20 p.m. At least five fire trucks, including one taker and a ladder truck, responded to the scene, knocking out the flames within half an hour.
Neighbors say the two people, who live inside the home, made it out safely. The residents have three dogs, two of which made it out of the fire, neighbors say. Firefighters tell us the third dog died.
The cause of the fire is not known, but the bulk of the fire was in the back of the house, destroying a back deck and at least one room.
Flames worked their way into the attic, causing the ceiling and roof to partially give way.

Our prayers are with you and your family..
I grew up in this house with my family. Everyone survived who was inside except our family dog Cali. She went back inside to save her pups, and never came out. The room on fire was my bedroom. I lost all of my paintings, antiques, and pictures. Everything was boxed up and ready to move into my new house. I will never get these memories back. After almost 30 years, we've never had any problems. The roof is where the most damage was done. We're thinking it was electrical. Red Cross has helped us with a room, food, and clothing. Our home will never be the same.
This is the house I grew up in. And the bed room on fire is mine. I lost all my paintings, pictures, and antiques. I was still in the process of moving. The rest of the fam is safe, and Red Cross is taking care of us. Cali, our family dog didn't live. She recently had two pups and went back in to save them, without coming back out. Bless her heart. Our neighbours and friends rushed to by beside us, in this time of grief. Please pray for us. Our house will never be the same after almost 30 years.
