KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) Over 400,000 people were expected to attend Boomsday 2010 in downtown Knoxville over Labor Day weekend.
The event is an economic boost for the city and county with travelers spending the long weekend in town. Matt Beeler, a vendor at the event, is new to the show and says it helps business.
"We're only two years old, so with this many people we're hoping to get our foot in the door," said Beeler.
But the fireworks show is what everyone waits for. It's the largest display of Labor Day fireworks in the nation.
"I just come for the fireworks, it's a good way for everyone to come together," Devin Long.
