PITTSBURGH (AP) -- A man is in a Pittsburgh jail after trying to pass off a one million dollar bill, and getting angry when a grocery store wouldn't accept it.
Authorities say the man handed the bill to a cashier at a supermarket on Saturday. The cashier refused to take the bill and a manager confiscated it.
Police say that's when the man flew into a rage. He slammed an electronic funds transfer machine into the counter and then reached for a scanner gun.
Authorities believe the bogus bill may have come from a ministry based in Dallas. Last year, the ministry passed out thousands of religious pamphlets with a picture of President Grover Cleveland on the fake millions.
Since 1969, the $100 bill is the largest note in circulation.
