MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A Memphis woman has patented an invention designed to keep track of pet medicines and keep them separate from owners' pills.

Deborah Parks of Collierville named her invention Bentley's Pills, in honor of the family pet that inspired it.

Bentley was an Australian shepherd mix adopted from the local animal shelter who developed seizures and needed a mix of medications to treat them.

The family used a bit of modeling clay to shape Bentley's pill container into a dog bone, which is the design for her patented product.

The Collierville Animal Clinic, the family's former vet, is one site that sells Bentley's Pills. Parks suggests a retail price of $5 to $8.
