KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A trial date has been set for a former Halls High School teacher charged with sexual battery and statutory rape by an authority figure.

Corey Dehart, 43, appeared in court this morning.

He was arrested in April, after a student claimed he sexually assaulted her back in 2007.

Dehart is currently out of jail on a $50,000 bond.

His trial is set to begin Nov. 17.

I wonder what kind of evidence they have? are they just taking the students word or do they have dna? it is to easy this day and age to cry wolf and get away with it.
