MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A federal grand jury in Memphis has indicted a Shelby County psychologist, accusing him of lying to the FBI about trying to bribe former state Sen. John Ford.

Dr. Roger D. Morgan was incited on two felony counts and a conviction could bring him five years in prison.

The indictment accused Morgan of offering Ford money for his legal defense when Morgan was lobbying for a prescription drug bill that would benefit psychologists.

A call to Morgan's home in Lakeland on Wednesday was not answered.

Ford was convicted in the Tennessee Waltz investigation and reported to a federal prison in Louisiana last month to serve a five-year bribery sentence.
