Man accused of killing Barley's server arraigned in Knoxville Save Email Print

Micah Johnson, 21, is charged with pre-meditated first degree murder in connection with the killing of Carrie Daugherty, 24.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knoxville man charged with bludgeoning to death a popular Old City server will go to trial next year.

24-year-old Carrie Daugherty was found dead in the middle of East Columbia Avenue on March 19. She was a server at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria.

The man charged with murdering her, 21-year-old Micah Johnson, was arraigned Wednesday morning on first-degree murder charges.

He'll go to trial Feb. 9.

Also Wednesday, his bond was increased for an unrelated crime, but his lawyer says it doesn't matter what it is, Johnson will be unable to post it.
