KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- George Thomas, one of the four people charged with carjacking, kidnapping, and killing Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23, is set to go to trial in Less than three months.
Thomas was set to go to trial in 2009, but his lawyer filed a motion for a speedy trial. Judge Richard Baumgartner granted to motion in April, and Thursday he moved the trial date to Aug. 11 2008.
There is another motion hearing set for June 25.
Letalvis Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson, an Vanessa Coleman are also charged with the murders. Eric Boyd has already been tried and convicted as an accessory to the crimes, and is waiting to be sentenced.
