KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- Knoxville's annual Fathers Day fishing event has become a tradition for many families.
During a four hour stretch on Sunday afternoon, more than 100 lures could be seen periodically sinking beneath the waters of Victor Ashe Park’s lake.
In preparation for the event, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency stocked the small body of water with more than 200 donated fish.
The fathers in attendance were all smiles and many admitted their children made the special day even better.
“It was great just getting out and spending time with her and the family,” said Charles Hudson who was fishing with his daughter.
“That's all it’s about,” said Scott Harness who was joined by his son and daughter. “I don't care if I catch anything, though it would be nice to catch something, but I'm just here having a good time.”
Among the fish swimming around in the lakes murky depths were Catfish weighing between two and eight pounds, large mouth bass and blue gill.
There was also a single albino catfish which if caught, won the angler a prize.
