KNOXVILLE (WVLT) -- The Dixie Iron riders spent Saturday afternoon presenting sick children with American flags for the second annual Cure Finders Rhythm and Roll.

East Tennessee Children’s Hospital organized the event to help raise money for Cystic Fibrosis research. C-F is a respiratory disease which cuts the life expectancy of a child in half.

"Some people do not have any idea what it is,” said Bill Ailgore with the Dixie Riders. “Hopefully this can get the word out there and let people know that Cystic Fibrosis is something that attacks kids. It’s something that's hard to deal with, and we need your support."

At 3:00 PM, patients watched out their windows as the riders roared their motorcycles engines to life and then departed on a nearly 100 mile ride through Knox, Sevier and Blount counties.
