MEMPHIS (WVLT) – Knoxville-native Mary Winkler has been given custody of her three daughters according to several media reports out of Memphis.
Last year, Winkler was convicted of shooting her minister-husband Matthew Winkler to death with a shotgun. She was charged with first degree murder but a jury in Selmer convicted her only on voluntary manslaughter and she was sentenced to time served and given probation.
The Commercial Appeal reports Winkler picked up her girls from their grand parents yesterday and took them to her home in McMinnville.
We will have more on this story as it develops.
