KNOXVILLE (WVLT) – Tennessee’s second sales tax holiday was very helpful for many local businesses across the region.
Nature Kids Mercantile in West Knoxville claims to be the city’s first store dedicated to supplying kids with natural and earth friendly clothing and toys. The store opened in May 2008, and thanks in part to the sales tax holiday, saw even more business.
"It's actually been really good and we’ve seen an increase in sales,” said GuruBani Whitney Khalsa, owner of Nature Kids Mercantile. “I think it’s an incentive for people to come out and spend more money because they know they're getting a little more for their dollar.
The tax free holiday will end on Monday at 12:01 AM.
