KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police are looking for the suspect in three armed robberies that happened in Knoxville early Friday morning.

Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk says the first robbery happened around 12:30 a.m. at the Sonic restaurant on Cedar Lane.

The suspect is then believed to have robbed the Breadbox convenience store on Millertown Pike around 1:30 a.m., and then he allegedly hit another Breadbox store on Gleason Drive just after 2:00 a.m.

The suspect in all three robberies is described as a black man, 5' 11" to 6' tall, 170 to 180 pounds. He has short braids and a medium complexion.

Police say they tried to stop a suspect vehicle, but the suspect took off. Police found the abandoned vehicle on Alexander Cabot Road. A K-9 was brought in, but it was unsuccessful in tracking the suspect.

Police towed the suspect vehicle for processing.
