Former West Tennessee sheriff's office employee sentenced
A former civilian employee of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office has pleaded guilty to sexual offenses involving a child.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A former civilian employee of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office has pleaded guilty to sexual offenses involving a child.
Wayne Logan, 61, pleaded guilty to attempted rape and attempted rape of a child. Prosecutors said he will serve eight years in prison.
He resigned his position with the sheriff's office in January 2007. The offenses occurred between 2005 and early 2007.
