2 guns smuggled into East Tennessee jail
Authorities in Morgan County and the Tennessee Department of Corrections are investigating the discovery of two guns that were smuggled into the Morgan County Correction Complex, according to the TDOC.

WARTBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities in Morgan County and the Tennessee Department of Corrections are investigating the discovery of two guns that were smuggled into the Morgan County Correction Complex, according to the TDOC.
The weapons were smuggled into the facility in a package delivered Wednesday morning, according to a TDOC release.
In the release, TDOC Commissioner George M. Little says, "This is a serious threat to the safety and security of both staff and inmates at the institution,”
Commissioner Little says, “I have directed our internal affairs division to launch an aggressive investigation into this threat and pursue vigorous action against those involved.”
