Bikers hit the road to honor East Tennessee's veterans both before and after Saturday morning's memorial dedication.
About three dozen bikers rode in the Road March for Warriors effort. The bikers arrived at Wild Wing Cafe, after attending the ceremony for the opening of the East Tennessee Veterans' Memorial in World's Fair Park.
They were asked to give both money and a personal item that a veteran might need.
Booths were also set up, to inform veterans about all the services available to help them, after they helped our country.
"We've found often times in our area, people don't know what they can get. And that's why we're having veteran service offers in the tent behind us so as people drive through we can help them," said Thomas Dehoog, with the Road March for Warriors.
A portion of the money raised will go to the Wounded Warrior program. That helps veterans make the transition back to normal life from the hospital.
The rest of the money will help cover the Veterans' Memorial.
