NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Police say a woman set herself on fire during a service at a west Nashville church.
Police spokeswoman Kristin Mumford says the unidentified woman set herself on fire at Grace Evangelical Church during a service on Sunday.
Mumford says church members quickly put the fire out and the woman was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment. Her condition was not immediately known.
Charles Shannon, district chief for the Nashville Fire Department, said the woman had partial burns on her chest and the fire was already out by the time firefighters arrived shortly before noon.
Shannon said the investigators do not know why the woman set herself on fire.
A message left at the church on Monday was not immediately returned.
