MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT/AP) -- Three teenagers and two 21-year-olds have been charged in the home-invasion robbery of a 96-year-old woman in Morristown.
Police Chief Roger Overholt says the five forced their way into the woman's home Monday night.
"Nathaniel Wilmoth, 19, of Rosedale Avenue and a 16-year-old white male have been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery for their role in allegedly forcing their way into Selma Harville’s residence, binding her hands and feet, and hitting and kicking her before stealing jewelry and other valuables from her home," according to a release from the Morristown Police Department.
Police say Amber Nicole Bryant, 18, Randall Weaver, 21, both of 510 Rosedale Ave., and Christopher Bryan Hancock, 21, of 1877 Hugh Drive have been charged with criminal responsibility for the conduct of another for allegedly participating before and after the alleged home invasion, police say.
The suspects were arrested Tuesday night. The four adults were being held in the Hamblen County Jail and the unidentified 16-year-old boy will be taken to a juvenile center in Knoxville.
