East Tennessee soldier dies at home on leave from Iraq
Army officials say an East Tennessee soldier has died while home from Iraq on leave.

UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn (WVLT/AP) -- Army officials say an East Tennessee soldier has died while home from Iraq on leave.
Spc. Cody Lee Lamb, 28 of Erwin passed away Sunday at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.
According to his obituary, Spc. Lamb was originally from Lapeer, Michigan and joined the army in November 2006 as an artilleryman. He was assigned to Fort Wainwright, Alaska following boot camp and was still stationed there at the time of his death.
The cause of death is unknown and doctors are still awaiting the results of his autopsy.
Spc. Lamb was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 8th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division. Military officials say the brigade was deployed to Iraq in September, and he was visiting family while home on a mid-tour leave. He leaves behind a wife.

-Visitation - 11:30-1:30 at Valley Funeral Home, Erwin
-Funeral Service – 1:30 at Valley Funeral Home Chapel, Erwin
-Graveside Service – to follow with military honors at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City.
