Knoxville (WVLT) - This time next year you may not have to battle traffic and gas prices to get Downtown for the games.
Developer Wayne Blasius is part of Gay Street Development Partners, building condominiums above the Mast General Store on Gay Street.
These 13 high-end condos range in size from 1,100 square feet to nearly 4,000 square feet.
Some are private penthouses and others have mountain views.
Blasius pitches them as ideal for people who want to take in all that Downtown has to offer.
"The new residential that we've seen Downtown's been very important because it's not only brought people Downtown which encourages shopping, and eating, and entertainment but it also encourages a lot of activity on the street which makes it a fun place to be," says Blasius.
This Gay Street Development isn't the only one going up.
Knoxville has announced plans to build a condominium hotel center on Cumberland.
The plans are similar to the Wayne Blasius project and are expected to bring business and further growth to Downtown.
