PREVIOUS STORY

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police have identified the man shot and killed in the parking lot of the Shoney's at Kingston Pike and Walker Springs Road in West Knoxville.

Police identify the victim as Dyisshon Foust, 26, of Knoxville.

Knoxville police say the shooting happened around 6:20 pm, in a busy area, in front of a lot of people.

"I looked over and he fell to the ground and the car drove off, so I called 911," said one witness who asked not to be identified.

"We were riding by and we saw some guy lying face down and we thought maybe somebody had gotten in a fight or something," said Astin Roberson, another witness.

"We heard the shots," Roberson continued, "but by that time the police were on the way. So I guess while they were fighting, somebody called the cops. They left right before the cops got here," he said.

There were a lot of eyes, but there is still no suspect in custody.

"The investigation is fresh and we've just started," said KPD Captain David Rausch.

Knoxville police say they have some surveillance video, but they're going to rely heavily on statements from the people who saw the murder.

"It was two guys, they kind of jumped him," Roberson said.

"It was a yellowish, tannish station wagon," added another.

Witnesses say they saw a fight: two against one.

"As best we know, there is a possibility there were two people involved," Captain Rausch said.

Witnesses say they heard two shots fired.

But by the time help arrived, it was too late for the victim.
And the yellow Volvo station wagon was no where in sight.

"A witness followed it, to get the description of the vehicle, didn't get the tag," Rausch said.

If you know anything that could help them catch the murder suspects call the KPD tip line at (865) 215-7212.

To old friend, Sure there was a reason..JEALOUSY!! Theres your reason.. I knew Sadott and I know Sadott was not in any way violent..unlike Deadrick. He was nothing but a COWARD who was jealous of Sadott..His life was never in danger. So dont come screamin that bull about self defense up in here.Sadott wasnt violent at all. It was not his gun.. Deadrick had it planned from the beginning.. You oviously didnt know Dott, or you wouldnt say that. But its cool, once he goes to trial, the jury will see how full of it him and his scumbag lawyer are. He wont be out to kill anyone else anymore. Thank God. So for the record, the only "hater" is Deadrick. Go ahead and sit next to him..maybe your case will be another "self defense" case for Poston to defend. He sounds like a great guy.with his 2 murder charges and all..How many did dott have? Im prayin Deadrick finds the Lord.cause punishment in hell could never compare to punishment here. We already know where Dott went. Heaven.. he was a REAL man

How ridiculous is our system when they let a boy (not a man) out from being charged with another homicide stabbing his step brother over 20 time. Who does that? Whoever let Garrett out should face charges also! Who does that? Our system is incredible screwed up!
