KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville's St. Joseph School was burglarized and vandalized this weekend.
The elementary school's principal says thieves broke a window to get in and steal cash and a big screen TV, sometime between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.
The school care taker noticed it around 10:00 am and called police.
"It would be what you would expect from people who are looking for whatever they are looking for," Principal Dr. Aurelia Montgomery said. "File cabinets out and things of that nature on the floor and the damage to the window of course."
That broken window was on the north side of the building and it looks like the thieves headed for the administrative wing.
The principal says nothing like this has ever happened to St. Jospeh's before.
