Sevierville, Sevier County (WVLT) - East Tennessee's own Dolly Parton is giving Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center an early Christmas present.

The country music legend made a surprise visit to the hospital on Tuesday and announced she's donating a million dollars to the hospital's new Thompson Cancer Survival Center.

The money is being donated on behalf of the Dollywood and Dixie Stampede Foundations.

Parton also announced she will make a rare concert appearance in May of next year, with all the proceeds going toward the construction of the $90 million cancer center.
