NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Phil Bredesen has announced plans for an October trade mission to Japan and China.
The Democratic governor and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Matt Kisber are slated to lead the trade mission that will begin at a two-day conference in Tokyo, followed by a nine-day visit to China.
Bredesen in 2007 visited three Chinese cities and officially opened Tennessee's trade office in Beijing. Tennessee's other foreign trade offices are in Japan, Germany and Canada.
The governor last week returned from his most recent foreign trip to Switzerland, Germany and Poland, where he said he was working to attract investments for a West Tennessee megasite near Brownsville.
