Rockwood (WVLT) - Workers at one area textile plant are cleaning up from a morning fire that threatened the entire building. When firefighters arrived at the Alba Health building in Rockwood smoke and flames were visible. Crews from the Rockwood Fire Department and West Roane County responded, with Harriman firefighters on standby. Rockwood's fire chief Mike Wertz says a large motor on an air handling unit shorted out and started the fire, which did spread to the second floor. "Quite a good sized fire, a lot of smoke, building was completely full of smoke. The fire was pretty much contained to two areas." No one was injured. Alba-Waldensian makes clothing and accessories for the medical field. This is the second fire at a Rockwood industry this week. Wednesday night nearly every firefighter in Roane County was called to the scene of a blaze at the Old Palm Beach Mill Outlet. There were no injuries in that fire.
