MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Sunday marked one year since the disappearance of a Blount County man.
Mike Hearon was last seen leaving his home in Happy Valley on August 23rd, 2008. Investigators found his ATV several days after he disappeared, but found no other traces of him.
Several members of his friends and family gathered Sunday afternoon for a vigil marking the one year anniversary. They handed out flyers, ribbons and t-shirts, screened a slide show and discussed a website set up to help the search efforts.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office also sent a representative to the vigil to brief the crowd on their progress in the case.
