No one hurt, 2 in custody after shots fired in Mechanicsville
A pair of juveniles were taken into custody Monday evening after one allegedly fired several gunshots in the Mechanicsville community.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A pair of juveniles were taken into custody Monday evening after one allegedly fired several gunshots in the Mechanicsville community.
Knoxville Police say an off duty officer was working at the Mechanicsville Food City when they heard multiple gunshots come from near the intersection of Cansler Avenue and Dora Street at 6:55 p.m. Three minutes later, someone called 911 saying there they had heard several shots coming from their home on Cansler.
KPD officers were dispatched to the intersection and saw three juveniles running down University Avenue. Two boys were taken into custody. One was charged with possession of a weapon with the intent to go armed and the other was booked on a DCS violation.
Another group of juveniles is also believed to be involved in the incident. Officers said they were traveling in a maroon or purple Mazda 626 with a temporary tag, dark tinted windows and the Mazda hood ornament missing.
The other parties involved are believed to be juveniles. It is believed that these individuals are in a maroon or purple Mazda 626 with a temp tag, dark tint and of note the front Mazda symbol is missing.
No one was hit by any of the shots.
