MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Relatives of a Tennessee soldier who was killed in the shooting spree at Fort Hood say he was a loving family member who exemplified the Army's values.
Army Spc. Frederick Greene of Mountain City, Tenn., was among 13 people killed when an Army psychiatrist allegedly opened fire on fellow soldiers at the Army post in Texas last week.
Greene's family released a statement Sunday calling the 29-year-old soldier a loving son, husband and father. They say he exemplified the Army's values of loyalty, duty, selfless service, honor and courage.
They say his fellow soldiers told them of his reputation as a "quiet professional" who never complained and volunteered when needed.
His family says it is grateful for the thoughts and prayers of others.

FORT HOOD, TX. (WVLT) -- The army is still in the process of releasing names of the Fort Hood shooting victims.
The Johnson City Press is reporting one of the victims is from Northeast Tennessee: 29-year-old Specialist Frederick Greene of Mountain City.
Greene's family is expected to hold a news conference on Sunday to share what they know about the rampage.
Witnesses say their accused attacker, Major Nadal Hassan, fired more than 100 rounds from a semi-automatic pistol that was not military issued.
His shots hit 46 people.
Thirteen are dead, and the wounded will not recover easily.
The gunman, who was injured in an exchange of fire, has been taken off a ventilator but still remains in intensive care at a military hospital.
